What are you doing this evening? I'm going to do the shopping. CORRECT
So, let's summarize the ideas...
GOING TO
- Use going to+ infinitive to talk about future plans or predictions.
I think it's going to be sunny tomorrow. (Prediction)
- You can omit 'to go' when you use 'going to'.
She's going (to go) to Cambridge University in two years.
BE CAREFUL!! TYPICAL MISTAKES
What do you do this evening? I go to do the shopping. WRONG
What are you doing this evening? I'm going to do the shopping. CORRECT
- Common expressions: tomorrow, this week, next week, this weekend. And these verbs: go, come, see, leave, arrive, meet, etc.
